A beautiful woman. A loss.

A great photo/still of her (below).

This makes me sad.

  1. Only a few celebrity deaths have really moved me -- Gregory Peck, Audrey Hepburn, Paul Newman -- and now Natasha Richardson. All personified class, elegance, integrity, and humanity.

    This is too, too tragic.

  2. I agree, Jodi. The celebrity deaths that moved me would be a short list: Vivian Vance, River Phoenix, Lucille Ball, Gregory Peck, Katherine Hepburn, Julia Child, Madeline Kahn, Rock Hudson, Gianni Versace, and I'll admit it, Princess Di.

Heath Ledger's death affected me, too, though. I wonder if I am reaching the age it makes me sad to see anyone die needlessly and young. I just can't understand how someone can get up and laugh about an accident and then be brain dead a few hours later.

I've only seen a handful of Natasha Richardson's movies, but I loved her grace and presence. (And if you haven't seen Widow's Peak, do so.)

  3. Always loved her. Always will. I hurt for her Liam, her boys, her family. Such a great loss. I've been shaking my head for days and she will probably be on my mind for quite awhile.
